As a part of our summer delegation dealing with the economic and educational crises, we recently met with the Stockton youth council and the NAACP. We expressed great appreciation for everything that they represent as an organization dedicated to the equality of all, regardless of race, age, ethnicity or religious beliefs.

Jill, a good friend of the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center, donated books to the West Oakland Library.  We met with Veronica, the library manager.  She was very nice and happy to receive the books.  We left the library with a warm feeling in our heart.  -Polina, 11

Yesterday our team took a journey through an ethnically and culturally rich community in San Francisco; La Mission, or The Mission. From afar anyone can recognize the beautiful colors of the murals spread out over the alleyways, building walls, and garage doors, depicting stories from the meticulous strokes of many Bay Area painters.

Our classes for creating a better community and America initiated last week! This week 60 MLK Freedom Center participants and youth coaches are coming together to help develop personal transformation.
