MLK Youth meet with Stockton NAACP
As a part of our summer delegation dealing with the economic and educational crises, we recently met with the Stockton youth council and the NAACP. We expressed great appreciation for everything that they represent as an organization dedicated to the equality of all, regardless of race, age, ethnicity or religious beliefs. They teach youth about how the struggle from back then still affects the community today. The education crises has struck the Stockton schools about as hard as the Oakland schools and beyond, cutting funding in the art s department and overcrowding already crowded classrooms. These changes create an urgency within the communities to focus on the national debt and budget cuts that makes the schools broken, allowing us to make our schools better democracy permits us to be a more stronger we. -Eric
